About Classic Film School .Com
ClassicFilmSchool.com is designed for the classic film enthusiast. Whether you’re a novice watcher of old films or a self-proclaimed cinema aficionado, this website is designed to be a tool to enable and enhance the classic movie viewing experience.
The Film Commentary blog (all links in menu bar above) offers many suggestions of films that fulfill the definition of a classic, and the 1939 blog focusses on the output of the most exceptional year known in film history.
From the films respected universally as “classic” (check out the Must See Lists) to the many venues for accessing great old movies (the Theaters, TV and DVD sections), ClassicFilmSchool.com endeavors to encourage an understanding and appreciation for yesterday’s movies (check out the Print and Online recommendations too).
100 YEARS AT THE MOVIES
This promotional clip produced for TCM in 1994 is amazing. If you’ve never seen it before then this is a must view. Don’t let the more than 9 minute duration put you off either, it’s worth every second of your time. And although it can’t possibly represent every one of your favorite films you’ll be surprised how many are in here thanks to Chuck Workman’s impressive editing.
So take a little break and enjoy this reminder of the wonder, the power, and the greatness of classic films.

Below is a short collection of classic film clips that highlight many of the major moments of cinema history. For me it exemplifies the magic of the movies and I can’t help but get goosebumps every time I watch it. If you’re as big a fan as I am it’s likely to have the same effect on you.
Enjoy! And remember (to loosely paraphrase Lauren Bacall), an old movie is a new movie if you’ve never seen it before.
